Cross Gardner

Studio Grip

Cross is a studio grip at Thread and pretty much the human embodiment of “we’ll figure it out.” He jumps into projects feet first, helping with everything from set prep and construction to painting, warehouse logistics, and whatever else the day decides to throw at him.

Laid-back by nature, Cross brings a go-with-the-flow attitude to the studio — a philosophy that seems to extend all the way to his flowing blonde locks. He grew up around the industry thanks to his mom, a former studio dweller and longtime freelance prop stylist, so the hands-on side of the business has been part of his world for a long time.

When he’s not at Thread, Cross is usually doing something equally hands-on: working on cars, woodworking, cooking up a new recipe, fishing, surfing, camping, or exploring somewhere new. He’s especially fond of discovering new corners of North Carolina and getting to know his home base of Greensboro a little better. He’s also a serious football fan and has recently developed an interest in bowling, because apparently he needed another hobby.

Bonus Fact: We asked for a bonus fact. He chose mystery instead.
